FLIR Thermal Imagining Camera

Thermography is a technique for detecting and measuring variations in the heat emitted and transforming them into visible signals that can be recorded photographically using infrared technology by measuring thermal radiation.

All objects on earth emit heat energy above Absolute Zero (-459.69 Fahrenheit).  The emitted energy can be measured and converted into visible images by the use of a thermal imager or an infrared camera.  This works to our advantage to find anomalies in various situations, such as being able to actually see hot and cold areas, drafts, and evidence of a recent residual presence.  Basically the thermal imaging camera captures on video what is virtually invisible to the human eye.  The Keystone Paranormal Investigation Team is one of only a few paranormal teams to use this technology due to the extremely high cost of this equipment.

Our
Fluke Insight FLIR Infrared Thermal Camera is a long wave, handheld, focal plane array camera that is capable of sensing temperature differences as small as 0.1 degrees C (0.18 to 0.26 Fahrenheit). With this sensitivity and the array format, image quality is excellent. It can be used at anytime during the day or night. This device senses thermal infrared heat even when using the device in no or low light operations as this device is immune to light deprivation. This camera is best suited for heat loss assessments that are common with paranormal activity. The camera has a video output jack allowing the storage of digital video to DVR as well as still images to its internal memory.

Sony GV-D900 Mini DV VCR

This VCR has resolution, 3x color bandwidth (vs. VHS) and significantly higher S/N ratio, to provide stunning video performance. 16-bit PCM allows for CD-quality stereo sound. The GV-D900 utilizes the 12bit PCM record mode to add, in post production, an additional high quality, stereo soundtrack. You can add music or narration to your videos without affecting your original soundtrack. i.LINK (IEEE 1394) DV Input/Output lets you edit between two digital camcorders or a camcorder and a deck with virtually no generation loss. The i.LINK interface allows for direct communication between your DV Handycam camcorder and your PC, with optional DV capture card.

Motion Detectors (4)

Passive Infrared Motion Detectors are a useful tool for ghost hunters.

Keystone Paranormal uses several of these. They work great when left in a room during the time when no investigator is present. The motion detectors used by paranormal investigators project an infrared beam. When the beam is disrupted the unit will light up giving the investigator a clue that spirits may be present in that area.

Infrared Illuminators (4)

Keystone Paranormal utilizes the Sony-IR Infrared Extender Lamp on our Sony hand held camcorders, which works for NightShot only mode. It can hold an auxiliary Sony battery or 2 AA size batteries.
Digital Non-Contact Thermometers
Digital non-contact thermometers are used to detect any temperature changes during investigations and recordings made of these changes.

Infrared Camcorders (3)

Keystone Paranormal Investigators utilize the Sony  camcorders for investigations. Sony NightShot features NightShot 0 Lux infrared system with color mode for recording in total darkness

Digital Cameras (4)

Digital cameras are the preferred choice of Keystone Paranormal Investigators, but 35 mm cameras are also utilized.  There are benefits to using both types of cameras and they are essential in all investigations.

Electromagnetic Field Detectors

Keystone Paranormal uses EMF detectors on every investigation. It is believed spirits gather whatever sources of energy available to them in order to manifest themselves. In doing this they may give off an electromagnetic field that can be detected by an EMF detector. We do an initial sweep of the place to be investigated and record what we call a base line reading. This is done to establish a recorded normal reading of the environment we are investigating so any increased readings can be noted during the investigation that may indicate possible activity. EMF readings of 2 to 7 MG are indicative of possible spirit activity.

Flashlights
The flashlight is a mandatory item for Keystone Paranormal when conducting any investigation. It is always a good idea to check out the place to be investigated during daylight hours for safety reasons. It is always good safety practice to always travel in pairs and have a simple first aid kit
available.

Digital Voice Recorders (6)

Most researchers now use digital voice recorders to record EVPs with much success.   This is one of the models we personally use on every case for EVP recordings as well as taking notes during an investigation.

Laptop Computers

A laptop or notebook computer is essential to all investigations as it is a means to monitor and store data.

CCTV Cameras with DVR Recording System

The heart of any paranormal investigation investigation is A/V recording equipment and video tends to speak a lot louder than photographs. Keystone Paranormal utilizes 2 DVR recording systems that can record any of our 16 night vision CCTV cameras and store the recorded images on the DVR systems massive hard drives.

Wireless Microphone

Wireless microphones are an amazing and often overlooked tool for paranormal research. A wireless microphone, transmitter, receiver, allow you to record audio straight on to the hard drive of your laptop computer, virtually eliminating background noise. It is coded green or red (with different frequencies), so it is possible to use two microphones at the same location. The wireless transmitter has an effective Distance: 90 to 100 feet, with a Frequency Response of 100 to 10,000 Hz.
